RA.One will change the genre of films: SRK
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan says his upcoming sci-fi superhero film " RA.One" is an attempt to create something that will change the genre of Indian films.
"It's an indigenously made film and it's made in VFX studios in India and is trying to create something which will change the genre of films. If Indian filmmakers would like to make something alike, they have the access to the technology," King Khan told reporters at FICCI-Frames Friday.
He also said that the film would be his first step in paying back to the audiences the love and honour he has received in the last 20 years of his career.
"I have made one promise to every one in India. I have been working for 20 years and I have been given too much; much more than I deserve as an actor, as a star, and I think it's time to give back some," the superstar said.
"RA.One" is scheduled to release at Diwali time but the star has already started its marketing so that the superhero character sinks into the psyche of his audience.
"I just thought that we don't have any background of a superhero in terms of comics like 'Spiderman'. We have superheroes like 'Krrish' and 'Drona' but they are film superheroes.
"I tell people this is the one who's gonna do... he is going to fly, he has these powers and once this becomes known, then people would like to come and see the film... I just thought to market a year before, hope it pays off," Shah Rukh said.
Akon in Shahrukh Khan's Ra.1
Nevada (US), (ANI): American singer-songwriter Akon is reportedly appearing in Bollywood big-budget action film Ra.1, starring megastar Shahrukh Khan.
Akon, 36, and Filmfare winner Shahrukh reportedly met in Los Angeles (USA) recently. Akon, besides singing one song, will reportedly form part of the cast. Directed by Anubhav Sinha (Tum Bin), science-fiction superhero hi-tech film Ra.1 is written by David Benullo (Shadow Man), cinematography by Ueli Steiger (The Maiden Heist), and music by Vishal-Shekhar. Besides Shahrukh, it also reportedly stars Filmfare winners Kareena Kapoor (Jab We Met) and Vivek Oberoi (Company).
Shahrukh reportedly plays a Miami software engineer Shekhar in the film, who as a video-game hero takes on his self-created techno-monster Ra.1. Shooting locations include Miami (Florida, USA) and Shahrukh’s wife Gauri Khan (Billu) is the producer.
Indo-American statesman Rajan Zed, welcoming this Bollywood-Hollywood music collaboration, pointed out in a statement in Nevada (USA) today that while adapting to Western music, we should not completely forget India’s rich musical heritage, elements of whose theory go back to Sama-Veda.
Grammy nominated Akon of Senegal background, born as Aliaune Badara Akon Thiam, has 40 Billboard Hot 100 songs. Various other international pop stars have done numbers for Bollywood in the past, like Samantha Fox (Rock Dancer), Snoop Dogg (Singh is Kinng), and Kylie Minogue (Blue).

Plot of 'Christian Brothers'
'Christian brothers' is the story of Captain Varghese Mappila(Saikumar) and his family. Captain Varghese Mappila is a retired Army Officer. He has four children-Christy(Mohanlal), Joby(Dileep), Stella(Kaniha) and Jessy(Lakshmi Gopalaswami). The brother jody of Mohanlal and Dileep was much appreciated in Joshy's previous multistar film 'Twenty-twenty'. The two brothers, Christy and Joby, were the dream of Varghese Mappilla. But on the contrary, dealing with underworld and crimes,Christy becomes a highly paid informer in the Mumbai region,. Joby is sent to abroad to study Theolohy. But, he also follws the same path as his brother.
Joseph Vadakkan(Suresh Gopi) is a Police Officer, who has some issues with the Christian brothers. Andrews Bandra (Sarath Kumar) is also an informer like Christy.But they are not in one ship. Kavya Madhavan comes as opposite to Dileep and Lakshmi Rai is the heroine casted against Mohanlal. The film also has the presence of Jagathy Sreekumar and Suraj Venjaramood. The makers behind the film adopted a new strategy in 'Christian brothers'. Initially, the whole film will revolve around the main heroes individually. Director Kukku surendran is back after his not so appreciated movies like Oraal' and 'Veeralippattu,' which starred Indrajith and Prithvi Raj in the lead respectively. Kukku Surendran latest movie titled Race is a total different movie from his previous ventures, Race even though promoted as a Family entertainer, actually Race is the conflict between evil and morality. Title character of Race which is currently under shoot in KOCHI are done by Kunchacko Boban, Indrajith, Mamta Mohandas and Gouri Munjal .
Kunchakko Boban this is not in his usual Chocolate characters, but this time Kunchakko Boban is family man with wife and a kid. He plays the character of Dr. Abey John, a successful cardio surgeon who is well known in the national level. Mamtha Mohandas doe the character Niya an effluent child who is wife to Dr Abey Jhon and they have a cute daughter Achu.
Indrajith plays the villain role in Race; he plays the character named Niranjan. He come from no were to Abey life totally ruining his family atmosphere. He is total stranger to Abey and family, Niranajan(Indrajith) Kidnaps Abey on his way to attend a doctors conference in Bangalore. The suspense of Race lies in why the Kidnapping and the movie follows with those dramatic events of Kidnap and Rescue.
The director himself had written the script for his movie Race, the dialogues are written by Robin Thirumala. Even though Race is Thriller moviethere is no fight scenes in the movie, the visuals speaks rather than action scenes according to the director.
Gouri Munjal Tamil actress who made her entry to Malayalam Film industries with Ranjiths award winning Movie Palerimanikyam doing character opposite to Mammooty. Gouri Munjal Plays the character named Swetha .she is doing more of a glamorous role in Race, who got close association with the Kidnapping event.
Other important characters of Race are done by Jagathi Sreekumar, Sreejith Ravi, Geetha Vijayan, Baby Ankitha, Pramod Varma is the cinematographer while Viswajith handles the music section.

Mega star Mammootty back in action as the dare devil cop Perumal , August15 directed by Shaji Kailas will be Mammootty's first release of the New Year. August 15 is sequel to the 1988 movie August 1 staring Mammootty as Crime Branch officer Perumal, which was directed by sibi Malayil. August 1 was scripted by S.N Swami based on the English novel The Day of the Jackal, which told the story of hot cop saving the chief minister of the state from an assassination attempt .
S.N Swami is scripting for the sequel August 15, this movie has Mammootty as crime branch officer perumal who is in the investigation in to another assassination attempt to Chief Minister of Kerala, like the previous movie on August 15.
In Agust 15 Swetha menon is once again teaming with the Mega StarMammootty after the movie Palerimanikyam, Shwetha menon doing the role of an a doctor who support Prumal in the investigation .Yakshi Fame Megana is also part of August 15, she plays cyber cell officer who is assisting Peruman in his investigations.
August 15 is Shaji Kailas second movie withMammootty in recent times, the director going through a bad patch he hasn't produced a hit for long time, the duo's last movie Drona bombed at the BOX office in 2010. But it couldn't happen, the reason they gave is the release of some other movies of M&M's. The producer Aroma Mani promised the release of August 15 in February 14. Now, it again changed. There are mainly two rumors spread about the shifting. The first one is the time which the movie going to release. If the movie will release in March last week, it can collect more than now because of the vacation season. Also, the peoples who viewed the preview of the movie, opined that the movie is an excellent one. So the best time to release it is the vacation season. The second rumor is that February seems to be not good for Aroma Mani. His last release Drona with the same team(Shaji Kailas-Mammootty) was a big flop. It was also released in February. So Mani feared to release August 15 in this February.
